Always Practice Full Chapter never focus only on important Topics if you want to score better. Most of the students do only important topics for exam. It can help you in passing exam or to score 50 or 60 % but if you want to score good then every topic you should study because it will clear your basics & After that you can do more practice of important Topics. It will help you to Score better.
About Chapter 👇
• Ideal gas / Perfect Gas:Ideal gas is that gas which strictly obeys gas laws such as Boyle’s law, Charle’s law , Gay lussac’s law etc.
Characteristics of Ideal gas:
• Size of Molecules of an ideal gas is zero.
• There is no force of attraction or Repulsion amongst molecules of an ideal gas.
• No Real gas is perfect but at Extremely low pressure & High temperature some real gas like Hydrogen, Oxygen, Nitrogen, Helium etc obey gas laws & hence behave like nearly perfect gases.

• Assumptions of Kinetic Theory of gases
• A gas consist of very large no. Of atoms or molecules which are perfectly elastic spheres.
• Molecules of a gas are in random motion. They move in all directions with different speeds.
• Size of gas molecules is very small as compare to distance b/w them hence volume occupied by molecules is small as compare to volume of gas.
• Molecules do not exert any force of attraction or repulsion on each other exept during Collision.
• There is no concentration of molecules at any point inside container means molecular density is uniform.
• Collisions are almost Instantaneous.
Concept Of Pressure exerted By a Gas👇
Pressure Exerted by Gas is is due to continious bombardment of gas molecules against the walls of Container.
Relation Between pressure & Kinetic energy of gas P = 2/3 E
• Degrees of Freedom
Degrees Of Freedom of a dynamical System is total number of independent quantities required to describe completely the position & Configuration of system. N = 3 A – R
Where A= No. Of Particles in the system
R = No. Of Independent Relation among the particles
Law Of Equipartition Of Energy
According to this law for any dynamical System in thermal equilibrium, total energy is distributed equally amongst all degrees of freedom & energy associated with each molecule per degree of freedom is 1/2 KB T. Where KB is Boltzmann’s constant & T is Temperature of System.
