In this Chapter Students will Understand the Concept of Heat ,Temperature and Heat Transfer.

Heat Travels from hotter to colder objects means from high Temperature to low Temperature.

Modes to Transfer Heat

Heat Can Transfer From one object to another by 3 different ways.

1.CONDUCTION – In this Mode of Transfer of heat, heat travels from one particle to another particle without any actual movement of Particle. for example : One end of a Spoon feels hotter after few minutes when we keep other end of spoon on burning flame.

CONVECTION-In this Mode of Transfer of Heat heated Particle leave their space and move towards lower temperature .Cooler Particle comes to fill that space . This occur in Liquid and Gases. Means in this mode Particle Actually leave their Place. For example : land breeze & Sea Breeze.

RADIATION – In this Mode of heat Transfer their is no need of Material Medium. Heat Can travel from High Temperature to Low Temperature without any Medium. for example We receive Heat from Sun through Radiation.

DIFFERENCE BETWEEN LAND AND SEA BREEZE

LAND BREEZE SEA BREEZE
At Night Land Cools down faster than sea .The Warm air above sea rises and cooler air from land moves towards sea. This is known as Land Breeze.During day land heats up faster than water. The Warm air above the land rises and cooler air from sea rushes into take its place .we call this sea breeze.
